Here's what I need to pack:
1. Professional gear for two days for a conference.
2. Travelling gear for almost a day and a half in total (bus and train)
3. Regular gear for non conference/non travel time.
4. My computer
5. Toiletries, undergear, tights, scarves, gloves (though I can't seem to find any. I thought I owned some?), a couple of books and probably other things I've now forgot.
6. Shoes
What I plan to put them all in:
A 1500 cu cm backpack.
Thought: I really need to either acquire a slightly larger backpack OR give in and start wheeling a suitcase around. BUT
I will be in and out of trains, buses, hotels, cities, etc. It seems absurd to add a wheelie thing to that.
So, instead of packing nos. 1-6, I am now writing about them in hopes that things will magically shrink. I need one of those bags like Hermione had.
Latest thoughts: I don't really need "professional" shoes and can possibly get away with the shoe I plan to wear with "regular" gear. Right?
Theoretically, I can wear the same gear and only change a sweater for the days of the conference. Same with a pair of jeans for "regular" gear.
Blasted winter clothes take up lots of space. Especially as I don't have a warm coat so need to "layer up" to make up for that.
Maybe I could just buy a warm winter coat on the way?
Well, I suppose I should go back to my room and actually pack instead of writing about packing.
What a thrill-filled post this was.
